Buying Ceylon Cinnamon in Bulk: 850g Packs, 10kg and 100kg Special Orders

Buying cinnamon by the kilo is a different job to buying a jar of it. The questions change. You stop asking whether it smells nice and start asking what it costs landed, whether the next batch will taste like the last one, and whether the person selling it will still answer the phone in six months.

We sell to households who go through cinnamon quickly, and to cafes, bakeries, restaurants and small shops. This is the plain version of how that works with us.

The 850g packs

Two things go out in bulk off the shelf.

True Ceylon cinnamon sticks, 850g. Hand-rolled quills from our family estate and a few partner farms in Sri Lanka. An 850g pack is a lot of cinnamon in volume terms, because quills are mostly air. If you have only ever bought a 50g pouch, expect the box to be bigger than the number suggests.

True Ceylon cinnamon powder, 850g. The same cinnamon, ground. This is the one most kitchens and cafes order, because powder is what a service kitchen reaches for during a shift.

Both are Cinnamomum verum, the species grown in Sri Lanka. Cassia is the other bark sold as cinnamon, a different species with a different flavour in the finished plate, so it is worth being clear which one a quote is for.

Larger than 850g: 10kg and 100kg special orders

Above the 850g pack we do special orders, in 10kg and 100kg, for both sticks and powder.

These carry no price on the page. The sensible number depends on how much you want, where it is going and how often you want it, and moving 100kg is a different job to posting an 850g box. So we quote each one. Contact us and we will come back with a price and a delivery time.

The 850g packs and larger are available at trade pricing for businesses. Tell us what you are buying for and we will quote it.

We also split large orders into smaller bags on request. People ask for this often and it is a normal part of the job. A cafe with three sites usually wants three bags rather than one sack, and a shop reselling in 100g bags wants them already portioned.

Grades, briefly

Ceylon cinnamon is graded on physical things: the diameter of the quill in millimetres, the appearance, and how tight and neat the roll is. Flavour is not on that list. Every grade is true Ceylon cinnamon from the same trees.

For a bulk order the useful question is what the cinnamon is for, rather than which grade sits highest. If it is going into a grinder or a stockpot, nobody ever sees the quill. If the sticks are going on a counter or into a gift box, the look is the whole point. Tell us the job and we will say which grade fits and what it costs.

Where it comes from, and why we mention it

The cinnamon is grown, harvested and hand-rolled on our own family estate and a few partner farms, and we sell it direct. There is nobody in between adding a margin and nobody blending our cinnamon with cinnamon from anywhere else before it reaches you.

For a bulk buyer that is not sentiment, it is traceability. When you ask which estate a batch came from, we can answer, and when you want the next order to match the last one we know which farms to go back to.

Orders ship from our estate in Sri Lanka or our base in Australia, depending on stock and delivery speed.

Postage on heavy orders

Postage on a heavy parcel is worth settling before you commit. Our checkout works out real postage to your country as you build a basket, so you can see the number before you pay rather than after.

For larger quantities the postage question changes shape and is better answered in an email, because the cheapest way to move 10kg is rarely the cheapest way to move 850g.
